Every year, Miami Gardens transforms into a hub for jazz, R&B, and soul lovers with Jazz in the Gardens (JITG) Music Fest. Since its inception in 2006, JITG has become one of the country’s premier music festivals, bringing legendary artists and fans together for an unforgettable weekend.
This year’s lineup did not disappoint!
Day One: Setting the Tone
The festival kicked off with a lineup that had the crowd moving from the very start. Coco Jones made her JITG debut, and let’s just say—she’s here to stay. Her performance was polished, her vocals flawless, and her stage presence undeniable. If you weren’t already a fan, you are now!
Ms. Lauryn Hill closed out the night in true icon fashion, delivering a set filled with emotion, nostalgia, and that signature energy only she can bring. When she brought out Wyclef Jean for a surprise Fugees moment, the crowd went crazy! Seeing them together again was a reminder of their lasting impact on hip-hop and R&B.
Another standout was Doechii, fresh off making history at the Grammys. She didn’t just perform—she commanded the stage with confidence and charisma. The highlight? Her duet with Lauryn Hill on Doo Wop (That Thing)—a true passing of the torch moment for hip-hop’s past and future.
Day Two: Legends and Rising Stars
If Day One set the tone, Day Two solidified JITG 2025 as one for the books. One of the biggest moments of the weekend was the New Edition reunion. These legends showed up and showed out, taking us on a journey through their biggest hits and solo projects. The chemistry between them? Still unmatched.
Unforgettable Moments
Beyond the headliners, there were plenty of moments that made this year special:
Busta Rhymes brought the hype, performing classics that had the whole crowd bouncing.
Xscape reminded us why ‘90s R&B is undefeated with their soulful harmonies.
Doug E. Fresh proved that beatboxing is still an art form, adding his signature touch to the weekend.
Beenie Man made a re-emergence into the states and blazed the stage with Mya as a special guest.
